Just wanted to share a quick video from Emmy, who participated in the LanguageCorps TESOL Certification Program in Costa Rica. She submitted this piece to our media contest this spring, and it offers a great glimpse into the life of a LanguageCorps teacher in Costa Rica.
A lot of people we talk to about teaching English in Latin America are looking to expand upon their Spanish or Portuguese skills. And if you fall into this category, there’s no better way to learn than spending an extended period of time immersed in a foreign culture. Classroom language learning is great, but it can only take you so far. Put those skills to use in the real world!
And for people considering teaching English in Latin America, Costa Rica is an attractive destination. With a strong job market and fairly low cost of living, it makes a lot of sense logistically. And when you factor in some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, weather that’s pretty close to perfect year round, a vibrant, exciting, friendly local culture, and some incredible cuisine, Costa Rica sounds like a no brainer.
