Accommodations available during training consist either of a shared or private bedroom in an apartment near the training center.
Apartments are shared with fellow trainees, local residents, and/or students from other schools. You will have either a shared or private bedroom, a shared bathroom and kitchen, and access to laundry facilities. The apartments are comfortable and simply furnished. Kitchens are equipped with basic cooking utensils, stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, blankets, and sheets.
Italians own more mobile phones per person than any other nationality in Europe. There are four main companies from which you can get a temporary or prepaid account if you already own a GSM, dual- or tri-band cellular phone. You will usually need your passport to open an account. Always check with your mobile service provider in your home country to ascertain whether your handset allows use of another SIM card (usually they do not). If yours does, it can cost as little as 10.00 to activate a local prepaid SIM card (sometimes with 10.00 worth of calls on the card).
Internet cafes are abundant in Florence and charge between 1-3 euros per hour. Shop around for the best price.
