LanguageCorps' 2009 SE Asia Photo/Video Contest

In the fall of 2009, LanguageCorps asked our Teachers in SE Asia to create a video or photo album of themselves having fun abroad – teaching, on an excursion, traveling on their own, out with friends... the subject didn't matter as long as they were having fun.

Our teachers were asked to post their videos, and upload their photo albums, along with a brief description and how LanguageCorps helped get them there. When the contest finished, the US staff voted on their favorite Videos and Albums.

Thanks to everyone who submitted their favorite videos and photo albums! We enjoyed the many variations on 'The LanguageCorps Experience' and are amazed at the wonderful sights and sounds you have captured. It was a very difficult decision, but we are pleased to announce the results.

PHOTOS:

1st Place – Lindsey M, Thailand - Pattaya album
2nd Place – Chris J, Thailand
3rd Place – Dirk K, Cambodia

VIDEOS:

1st Place – Michelle P, Vietnam
1st Place - Ryoko N, Thailand
3rd Place – Gideon C, China

In addition to the quality of the videos and photos themselves, the judges also considered how well each submission demonstrated one of the two key elements of someone’s LanguageCorps experience – how their personal adventure affected them and how they were able to give back to their new community. Each of the First Place video submissions focused on one of those two elements and the judges felt that both should be acknowledged.
