Teaching English in Czech Republic

Housing & Communications

Accommodations during training can be arranged in an apartment shared with fellow trainees, local residents, and/or students from other schools. You will have your own bedroom, a shared bathroom and kitchen, and access to laundry facilities. The apartments are comfortable and simply furnished. They are equipped with basic cooking utensils, stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, blankets, and sheets.

After training, you will most likely rent a room in an apartment or house with other students or Czechs. Some schools will provide a room for you, either shared or single (usually in an apartment with other teachers) and provide you with a monthly stipend.

It seems that every person in Prague owns at least one mobile phone. There are three main providers (Vodafone, T-mobile, and Eurotel), each with shops all over the city. Note that, with a Czech cell phone, you can typically receive calls from the US for free.

Internet Cafes are abundant throughout Prague.
