Teach English in Costarica

Food & Clothing:

While Costa Rica is not famed for its cuisine (beans and rice or rice with beans?), San Jose offers a wide array of remarkably affordable international restaurants.

Water in San Jose is generally safe to drink, though bottled is the way to go once out of the city.

Participants are responsible for their own meals.

Costa Rican dress can be described as "Western tropical." Linens and cottons are appropriate in the city (along with a sweater for chilly mountain nights), while wilderness lovers are advised to put function before form.

When teaching, women should cover their shoulders (sleeveless shirts are acceptable, but very thin straps or tank tops are not). No low-cut necklines or very short skirts. Open-toed shoes are acceptable.

Male Teachers should wear long pants (not jeans), short- or long-sleeved shirt with a collar, and loafers or dress shoes. Long hair should be neatly tied into a ponytail.
